Backup Camera Install

I installed a Peal Safety View Wireless Backup Camera. You can get these on eBay or at Sam's stores.
They are plug and play and you can also use the 7" LCD screen to hook up to a DVD player or gaming system.

After removing the drivers side visor, I used the 12v supply to the mirror as the power source to the monitor.

I pulled the liner down and used a coat hanger to pulled the RCA Jacks through the holes.

The RCA jacks plug pulled through.

The RCA Jacks wire running down the column and below the dash.

RCA JAcks coming out by the Parking Brake Pedal.

I used the coat hanger to pull the camera wire that connects to the reverse lights in the rear. This hole is located behind the rear inside panel.

Then comes out behind the tail light through the vent. Then once the wire is pulled, it is connected to the reverse light as per the instructions.

The visor once the mirror is removed. To removed it you must break all the little tabs holding it in place. They are easy to snap as they are only melted in place.

I took the mounted clip for the monitor and cut off the part I needed. The monitor slides down on this, so you need to counter sink the screws you use. They will then screw into the plastic behind the fabric. Make sure you use short ones so you do not go all the way through and out the other side. Also you can see the power supply wire running through after I connected it to the 12v source shown earlier. Before attaching everything, plug the monitor in and see if it powers on. If not, then just reverse the wires at the point of connection.

The visor back in place with the power supply and RCA Jacks wires running through.

The little arm where the 12v supply runs is to small for the RCA JAcks wire to run through. So I ran it right past and into the visor. HArdly noticeable at all.

This screen comes up momentarily as it powers on. Once the monitor is in place, you need a small long screw driver to remove it. You have to push it in from the top and push the locking clip inward.
Clip the piece onto the monitor before screwing it in place to get the feel of it. Or you can simply cut that piece off so the monitor will not click in place.

The visor still lays fairly flat in the up position.

I mounted the transmitting unit on my rear inside panel as you cannot see it due to the speaker box. You can also mount it behind the panel if you wish. The wires from the camera run behind the license plate and up through the hole where you lower the spare tire from. My spare has been removed due to not being able to use it. Then the wires run into the small rear compartment and out the back of it.

I have the camera angled down so I can see my hitch for backing up to the trailer or boat. It comes with pieces to angle it if you wish.
