Rear Shock Mount Brackets
Fabricated up new shock mounts for the 4 rear shocks. When I lifted the Durango some more, the shocks were extended out to much. So I had to remount them to bring the range of motion back.
This is the before setup. The inside shocks were angled due to the tailpipe. I had to cut the tailpipe off right behind the muffler. I have since fabricated a new 3" all stainless exhaust system. |
All the mounts I fabricated |
Sandblasted them |
Welded the two inside shock mounts next to the stock mounts that hold the outside shocks. I removed my spare tire years ago, so no worries there. |
|
Welded all the new bottom mounts a little at a time. You do not want to heat your axle up all at once |
|
Fitted the shocks to make sure everything lined up properly. |
|
Cleaned and painted everything. |
|
Shocks installed with stainless bolts and nylon nuts. |
