Rear Shock Mount Brackets

Fabricated up new shock mounts for the 4 rear shocks. When I lifted the Durango some more, the shocks were extended out to much. So I had to remount them to bring the range of motion back.

This is the before setup. The inside shocks were angled due to the tailpipe. I had to cut the tailpipe off right behind the muffler. I have since fabricated a new 3" all stainless exhaust system.

All the mounts I fabricated

Sandblasted them

Welded the two inside shock mounts next to the stock mounts that hold the outside shocks. I removed my spare tire years ago, so no worries there.

Welded all the new bottom mounts a little at a time. You do not want to heat your axle up all at once
or it could warp it or do internal damage. So I tacked them all in place, then welded half of one,
took a break to let it cool off, then welded some more, continuing that process.

Fitted the shocks to make sure everything lined up properly.

Cleaned and painted everything.

Shocks installed with stainless bolts and nylon nuts.
